01. Offerpad

Offerpad makes it easier for people to sell, buy, and finance homes. In addition to consumer facing products the company also has a suite of internal tools used by real estate professionals across the country. My team and I have worked on a number of high priority products and feature enhancements. The project I’m focusing on here is the the buyer experience for Offerpad’s responsive website and native mobile app.

Role

I led a team of one UI designer and one UX designer through discovery to production partnering with a project manager, several dev teams and stakeholders. I also facilitated a design sprint for cross-functional collaboration.

Problem

Since the company began in 2016 it had focused majority of effort towards seller experience however with housing market shifts in 2022 it was apparent the buyer experience for Offerpad was in need for updated UI and enhanced features to not only keep up with competitors but exceed them in performance.

Discovery

During a week-long design sprint the team mapped out the customer journey and learned we needed to enhance browsing, sorting, and filtering capabilities for users searching for homes. We also wanted to improve the layout of information for each property details page including improving the ability to view photos. These features were voted on and prioritized by the team.

Solution

Beginning with low fidelity hand drawn sketches the team went through a series of presenting ideas and voting. The winning ideas were consolidated and translated into a high fidelity interactive prototype. Tagging photos and saving search profiles was also added to scope.

Evaluation

The team tested the prototype with the goal of measuring ease of task completion and overall satisfaction of users with the new features. Results were very successful and since initial production we have been adding more and more features as the product continues to evolve.
